Beanz - promoting a coffee shop through the digital age

This one week brief was to help an independant coffee shop chain to move forward and go digital. Within this we had to consider their budget and what they are trying to promote and/or sell. I chose to design a smartphone application for a coffee shop named 'Beanz'. On this app I would present information on the shop itself, such as about who they are, job information, nutritional information of their products and the prices on which they are sold for. I would also link it to Google maps, and have a store locator, as it is a chain there would be shops in several different locations, with more opening around the country. I would also present a link to the shop, where customers could buy merchandise, and drinks products that would then be linked to Amazon for further transactions and delivery information. I would then produce a game so that the app has something for the customers to keep coming back to, otherwise the information would be used once or twice, and then the app would no longer be needed. The game would be to design your own take out coffee cup, which would then be submitted to Beanz.com, with a monthly competition where the winner would win a prize of merchendise, products etc plus their design on the cup for a month. I thought of this game whilst thinking what would keep me interested in an app, and an app where we can win things or produce things is always enticing and exciting.
